The data analysis is an important part of your thesis. This is where you show what your research produced and how you reached your conclusions. But how do you do that well?

1. Start with a clear plan

Before you dive into the data, you need to know what you are looking for. Choose an analysis method that matches your main question: quantitative (such as statistics) or qualitative (such as thematic analysis).

2. Be transparent

Explain clearly how you went about it. Which software did you use? Which steps did you take? This strengthens your reliability.

3. Show and explain

Use tables, charts or quotes to present your results, but do not forget to explain what they mean. How do they connect to your main question?

4. Do not get overwhelmed

It is easy to drown in data. Focus on what is truly relevant to your research and leave the rest out.

In short

A good data analysis tells a clear story. Make sure your story is logical, clear and convincing.
